Torque converter oil seal, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (FWD)

Special tools and equipment

VW 681 Extractor lever:

3295 Thrust piece:

Removing
- Remove transmission.
- Secure transmission on repair stand.





^ Apply extractor lever VW 681 directly behind the sealing lip of the oil seal to avoid damaging the bearing ring behind it.

Installing
- Insert bearing ring.
- Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of oil seal.

Installation position:
Open side of oil seal faces transmission.





- Using thrust piece 3295, drive in torque converter oil seal until stop of thrust piece.
- Install transmission.
