Crash Fuel Shut-Off

Function
Vehicles with an airbag are equipped with a crash fuel shut-off system. It reduces danger of a fire in a crash as the transfer fuel pump (FP) G6 is switched off via fuel pump (FP) relay J17. At the same time, with this set-up, an improvement in the comfort of engine startability is also attained. When opening the door, the transfer fuel pump (FP) G6 is activated for 2 seconds to build pressure in fuel system.

When opening the fuel system:

Observe safety precautions.
- Check voltage supply of Fuel Pump (FP) Relay J17 according to wiring diagram.
