Throttle Cable Adjusting




Special tools, workshop equipment, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required:
- Throttle pedal depresser
- Hook throttle cable to throttle pedal and quadrant on Throttle Control Module.
- Remove retaining clip for throttle cable core.
- Depress throttle pedal to Wide Open Throttle position.


NOTE: This step requires a second technician or a pedal depressor.


Vehicles with manual transmission:
- Adjust throttle cable by moving the retainer at the support bracket, so that the Wide Open Throttle position is obtained at the Throttle Control Module.

Vehicles with automatic transmission:
- Adjust throttle cable by moving support bracket retainer until Wide Open Throttle position is obtained at the Throttle Control Module and the kick-down switch clicks audibly.
- Release throttle pedal or remove pedal depresser.
- Check Closed Throttle and Wide Open Throttle Position stops on Throttle Body after adjusting.
