Sunroof - Won't Close With Convenience Close Feature

Convenience Close Feature, Sunroof Will Not Close

Supersedes T.B. Group 60 Number 96-01 dated Aug. 14, 1996

Reference to Golf, GTI, Jetta removed.

Condition

When using Convenience Close Feature (key in outside door lock to close windows and sunroof), sunroof does not close after windows close.

Service

When this condition exists:

- Switch ignition ON.

- Lower ALL windows to full open position.

- Open sunroof to full open position.

- Disconnect each power window regulator connectors at respective A and B Pillars.

- Switch ignition OFF.

^ Allow vehicle to sit with ignition switched OFF for 5 min. before proceeding with the following steps:

- Switch ignition ON.

- Connect left front door window regulator connector at A-Pillar.

- Raise left front window to full closed position.

- Connect right front door window regulator connector at A-Pillar.

- Raise right front door window to full closed position.

- Connect left rear door window regulator connector at B-Pillar.

- Raise left rear door window to full closed position.

- Connect right rear door window regulator connector at B-Pillar.

- Raise right rear door window to full closed position.

Note:
Each regulator must be connected then raised to the full closed position before proceeding to the next regulator.

^ All windows should be in the full closed position.

- Using the key in the driver's door operate convenience open feature and lower all windows to full open position.

- Operate convenience close feature (close all windows to full closed position), continue holding key and sunroof should now close.

Windows and sunroof are now synchronized.
