DTC Code 00575, Manifold Absolute Pressure Control Difference

Special Tools, Testers And Auxiliary Items:
- VAG 1598/18 Test Box adaptor
- Fluke 83 Multimeter or equivalent
- VW 1594 Adaptor kit
- Wiring diagram

Work Sequence:
Display will appear as shown:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX

- Check Wastegate Bypass Regulator valve N75 using function 03 "Output Diagnostic Test Mode"
- Check hoses and connections for damage, leaks and routing

If no malfunction found:
- Check boost pressure without boost pressure control

If boost pressure without boost control OK, check boost pressure control as follows:

Test Sequence:
Use the VAG 1551 Scan Tool to check boost pressure during the test drive. For safety reasons a second person is required to operate Scan Tool.

WARNING: When operating vehicle to evaluate or troubleshoot; always use a second person to operate the VAG 1551 Scan Tool.

Work Sequence
- Connect VAG1551/1552 Scan Tool
- Start engine and let idle
- Press 0 and 1 buttons to select Address word 01: "Engine electronics"
Display will appear as shown:

Select function XX

- Press 0 and 8 buttons to select Function 08 "Read measuring value block"
- Press Q button to enter input
Display will appear as shown:

Read measuring value block HELP
Input display group number XX

- Press 1 button twice to select "display group 11"
- Press Q button to enter input
Display will appear as shown:

Read measuring value block 4 -->
840 rpm 938 mbar 978 mbar 92%

- Accelerate vehicle briefly in Third Gear from about 1500 rpm applying Wide Open Throttle
- Press PRINT button on VAG 1551 at approx. 3000 rpm
Specification in channel 3: 1720 to 1950 mbar

Display will appear as shown:

Read measuring value block 4 -->
3090 rpm 1866 mbar 1917 mbar 62%

If specified reading not obtained:
- Press -> button
- Press 0 and 6 buttons to select Function 06 "End data transfer"
- Press Q button to enter input
- Switch OFF ignition after completing test drive





- Disconnect Wastegate Bypass Regulator valve -2- harness connector -1-
- Measure resistance between valve terminals
Specification: 25 to 45 ohm

If specified resistance not obtained:
- Replace Wastegate Bypass Regulator valve N75

If specified resistance obtained:
- Switch ON ignition





- Measure voltage between harness connector terminal -1- and engine ground
Specification: approx. battery voltage

If specified voltage not obtained:
- Switch OFF ignition





- Connect VAG 1598/18 Test Box adaptor to ECM wiring harness
- Check wiring for open circuit between VAG 1598/18 Test Box adaptor and harness connector using wiring diagram:
Terminal 1 + socket 68
Terminal 2 + socket 47
Wire resistance: 1.5 ohm maximum

- Check for shorting between wires
Specification: infinite ohm

If no malfunction detected:
- Replace ECM J248
