DTC Code 00542, Needle Lift Sensor G80:
Questionable Signal


NOTE: The Needle Lift sensor signal is used to determine cold start injection. In cases of malfunction, cold start injection is regulated (revolution and load dependent), during normal operation cold start injection is controlled (revolution, load and temperature dependent).

Work Sequence:
Display will appear as shown:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX

- Press 0 and 6 buttons to select Function 06 "End data transfer"
- Press Q button to enter input
- Switch OFF ignition
- Check No. 3 cylinder injector lines for damage and kinks
- Check fuel supply
- Check fuel system for vapor lock

If no malfunction found:
- Replace No. 3 cylinder injector with Needle Lift sensor G80
