DTC 00513 Questionable Signal

DTC code 00513, Engine Speed sensor G28:
Questionable Signal

The Engine Speed sensor G28 signal provides speed and reference. If an engine malfunction occurs, the engine will continue running using an emergency program. The backup component is the G80 Needle Lift sensor.

Work Sequence:
Display will appear as shown:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX


- Press 0 and 6 buttons to select Function 06 "End data transfer"
- Press Q button to enter input
- Switch OFF ignition
- Check whether engine speed sensor is securely attached and that wiring to sensor is not damaged
- Remove and check sensor for metal particles or other damage
- Check whether sensor wheel is cracked, loose or damaged

If no malfunctions found
- Check sensor and wiring as described under DTC code: 00513, No Signal
