Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory - Erasing

Requirements:

^ DTC Memory has been interrogated and codes displayed.

^ After last DTC has been displayed, Press --> key.

DTC Memory has been interrogated, display now reads:

^ Readout in display:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX

1. Press buttons 0 and 5. (The address word "Erase DTC Memory" is entered with 05).

^ Readout in display:

Rapid data transfer Q
05 Erase DTC memory

2. Confirm entry with Q button.

^ Readout in display:

Attention!
DTC memory was not interrogated

Note: If the ignition was switched off or the engine was left running, i.e.. between interrogating the DTC Memory and erasing DTC Memory the DTC Memory is then not erased.

^ Adhere strictly to the sequence of operations, i.e. first interrogate DTC Memory.

^ Readout in display:

Rapid data transfer -->
DTC memory is erased

The DTC Memory is now erased.

Note: Wait about 1 minute before again interrogating the DTC Memory

1. After interrogating and erasing the DTC Memory, carry out a test run and again interrogate the DTC Memory.

2. When the DTC Memory is interrogated, the following display should appear:

^ "No malfunction recognized".
