Fuel Pump Check Valve, Checking

WARNING: FIRE HAZARD. DO NOT SMOKE OR HAVE ANYTHING IN THE AREA THAT CAN IGNITE FUEL


- remote control VAG 1348/3A connected


NOTE: When this check is performed, the fuel supply connections between the fuel pump and the. connecting point for the VAG 1318 pressure gauge are checked simultaneously for leaks.







- Connect pressure gauge VAG 1318 to fuel supply line using adaptor VAG 1318/23
- Close the pressure gauge shut-off (lever perpendicular to flow)
- Operate the remote control at short intervals until a pressure of approx. 5 bar has built up

- if the pressure exceeds 5 bar, reduce by carefully opening the shutoff lever


CAUTION THERE IS THE DANGER OF FUEL SPRAY WHEN OPENING THE SHUT-OFF LEVER. HOLD THE OPEN END OF THE TESTER OVER A CONTAINER.


- Watch for a pressure drop. After 10 minutes, pressure must not be lower than 2.6 bar

If pressure is less than 2.6 bar
- Check system for leaks

If NO leaks
- Replace the fuel pump check valve
