Removal

1. Obtain audio coded anti-theft code, then disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from distributor, then remove distributor cap.
3. Set engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) compression stroke, rotating engine in normal direction of rotation only.
4. Ensure center of rotor tip is aligned with centering mark on distributor housing.
5. If alignment cannot be achieved, engine re-timing may be required.
6. Remove distributor clamp bolt, then the distributor. Due to helical gears of distributor drive, rotor will turn slightly during removal. Note this position for later assembly.
