To replace the Throttle Cable:

Throttle Cable:

1. Remove the retaining clip and grommet at the intake manifold to slacken cable.
2. Disconnect the cable end from the throttle valve lever.
3. Inside the car, pull the cable end from its ball socket on the accelerator pedal assembly.
4. From the engine compartment, pull the cable through the firewall.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
6. Adjust cable refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
7. As a final check, depress the accelerator pedal a few times to check for binding before driving the car.
