Air Filter Housing

Air is drawn into the air filter housing from behind the right headlight. The intake air muffler, which was located in the front right fender, has been eliminated.

This system is equipped with a vacuum operated preheat valve for regulating intake air temperature. The preheat valve is located on the air filter housing.

The preheat valve is controlled by a vacuum thermoswitch. The thermoswitch senses intake air temperature and controls the amount of vacuum to the preheat valve. The preheat valve regulates the amount of preheated air that enters the intake manifold.

The air flow sensor is bolted to the air filter housing.
