Removal

EXHAUST SYSTEM

REMOVAL

WARNING: Before removing the exhaust system, ensure that the engine is cool. If it is hot, wait until it cools off to prevent scalding yourself.

Muffler assembly
1. Remove the clamp bolt and nut which secure the pipe at the rear of the muffler assembly.
2. Remove the hanger bolts and nuts which secure the pipe in front of the muffler assembly and remove the muffler assembly.

Oxidation catalyst
1. Remove the bolts and nuts which connect the oxidation catalyst and rear exhaust pipe.
2. Remove the hanger bolts and nuts which secure the pipe at the rear of the oxidation catalyst.
3. Remove the oxidation catalyst.

Rear exhaust pipe
1. Remove the bolts and nuts which connect the rear exhaust pipe, exhaust brake assembly and oxidation catalyst.
2. Remove the bolt and nut which secure the rear exhaust pipe to the bracket of the vehicle frame (Automatic transmission models only).
3. Remove the rear exhaust pipe.

Front exhaust pipe
1. Remove the bolts and nuts which connect the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust brake assembly.
2. Remove the bolts and nuts which connect the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust connector.
3. Remove the bolt and nut which secure the front exhaust pipe to the bracket of the vehicle frame (Manual transmission models only).
4. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
