DESCRIPTION

When the vehicle has a built-in type amplifier, the sound signals are sent from the navigation receiver assembly to the speakers via this circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the E1 navigation receiver assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the E2 navigation receiver assembly connector.

(c) Disconnect the I1 and H1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

(d) Disconnect the I4 and H4 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

(e) Disconnect the L2 and L1 rear speaker assembly connectors.

(f) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the navigation receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

Standard Resistance:





(g) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the front No. 2 speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

Standard Resistance:





(h) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the navigation receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

Standard Resistance:





(i) Measure the resistance between the navigation receiver assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

Standard Resistance:





(j) Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Resistance check





(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Resistance check





(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed Removal.

OK:

Malfunction disappears.

HINT
* Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
* If there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
* Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.

NG -- INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

OK -- END (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

5. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

(a) Resistance check

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
