- Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Radio Receiver
DESCRIPTION
* The radio and display receiver assembly and telephone microphone assembly are connected to each other using the microphone connection detection signal lines.
* Using this circuit, the radio and display receiver assembly sends power to the telephone microphone assembly, and the telephone microphone assembly sends microphone signals to the radio and display receiver assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
After replacing the radio and display receiver assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, XM radio ID registration is necessary (w/ SDARS System).
PROCEDURE
1. CONFIRM MODEL

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the telephone microphone assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.
(b) Reconnect the telephone microphone assembly connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

4. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the telephone microphone assembly connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.
(b) Reconnect the telephone microphone assembly connector.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
(d) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 2 (MIC+) and 4 (MIC-) of the telephone microphone assembly connector.
(e) Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY))
(a) Disconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

7. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

9. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)
(a) Reconnect the radio and display receiver assembly connector.
(b) Reconnect the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
(d) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 11 (MI1+) and 10 (MIC-) of the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
(e) Check the waveform of the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) using the oscilloscope.
