C1201 - Engine Control System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If the engine control system is malfunctioning, VSC and TR(A)C operations are prohibited, as a fail safe function. If a normal signal is received from the engine control system, the fail safe function cancelled and the DTC will be cleared.

1. CHECK ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM

(a) Check if any engine control system DTC is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 2AZ-FE, or Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 2ZR-FE).

B -- REPLACE ECM (for 2ZR-FE) Removal

C -- INSPECT ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (for 2AZ-FE) SFI System

D -- INSPECT ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (for 2ZR-FE) SFI System

A -- REPLACE ECM (for 2AZ-FE) Removal
