1NZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL: THROTTLE BODY (for Hatchback): INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.
(b) Install the throttle body assembly with the bolt and 3 nuts.
Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)
NOTICE:
If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace it.
(c) Install the wire harness bracket with the nut.
Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)
(d) Connect the throttle body assembly connector.
(e) Engage the clamp and connect the wire harness to the wire harness bracket.
(f) Connect the water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly with the hose clamp.
(g) Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly with the hose clamp.
(h) Install the water filter bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE
(a) Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with No. 1 air cleaner hose onto the throttle body assembly
(b) Engage the 2 clamps and connect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly to the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
(c) Tighten the hose clamp.
Torque : 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 in-lbf)
(d) Connect the vacuum switching valve assembly connector.
(e) Connect the mass air flow meter connector.
(f) Engage the 2 clamps and connect the wire harness to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and vacuum switching valve assembly.
(g) Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.
(h) Connect the fuel vapor feed hose assembly to the No. 1 air cleaner hose and vacuum switching valve assembly with the 2 hose clamps.
(i) Engage the clamp and connect the fuel vapor feed hose assembly to the No. 1 air cleaner hose.
3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
4. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
NOTICE:
Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle with motor body assembly or any throttle with motor body assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle with motor body assembly is cleaned.
(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
NOTICE:
If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above step again.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(c) Perform the "Inspection After Repairs" Programming and Relearning.
(d) Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.
Standard:
HINT
* Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
* Make sure that the shift lever is in P or neutral.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Accel Sens. No. 1 Volt %. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 52 to 90%.
(f) Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
