Front Axle Hub (for Hatchback)

AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: FRONT AXLE HUB (for Hatchback): ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

2. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

3. REMOVE FRONT DISC Removal (from 07/2011)

4. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING BACKLASH

(a) Using a dial indicator, check the backlash near the center of the axle hub.





Maximum:

0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)

If the backlash exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub bearing.

5. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT

(a) Using a dial indicator, check the runout of the surface of the axle hub.





Maximum:

0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)

If the runout exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly and front axle hub bearing.

6. INSTALL FRONT DISC Installation (from 07/2011)

7. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Installation (from 07/2011)

8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
