LIGHTING (EXT): LIGHTING SYSTEM (for Hatchback): SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

1. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM

The daytime running light system is designed to automatically illuminate the dimmed low beam headlights during the daytime to make the vehicle more visible to other vehicles.

* This system is controlled by the main body ECU and running light relay. The main body ECU transmits a turn ON signal to the running light relay, which illuminates the low beam headlights using duty control.

* This system is enabled when the following conditions are met:

* Ignition switch ON.

* Engine speed signal input (engine running).

* Parking brake switch off.

* Light control switch is in the off or TAIL position.

2. BATTERY SAVER SYSTEM

(a) The battery saver system is designed to automatically turn off the headlights, fog lights*1, clearance lights, side marker lights, taillights and license plate lights if the doors and the light control switch remain in the same condition for 20 minutes or more when the ignition switch is off, the light control switch is in the TAIL or HEAD position and the headlights, fog lights*1, clearance lights, side marker lights, taillights and license plate lights are on.

* This system is controlled by the main body ECU.

* This system is enabled when the following conditions are met:

* Ignition switch is off.

* The light control switch is in TAIL or HEAD position (headlights, fog lights*1, clearance lights, side marker lights, taillights and license plate lights are on).

* The doors and the light control switch remain in the same condition for 20 minutes or more.
