PTC Heater Circuit (from 07/2011)





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (for Hatchback): PTC Heater Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 integration relay is controlled in accordance with signals from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and power is supplied to the quick heater assembly installed on the radiator heater unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedures.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

(f) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below while performing the Active Test.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - BATTERY AND IG1 NO. 1 RELAY)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the quick heater assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Disconnect the A69 quick heater assembly connector.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Start the engine.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

(f) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

(g) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below while performing the Active Test.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - BATTERY AND IG1 NO. 1 RELAY)





(a) Remove the No. 2 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Remove the No. 2 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Remove the No. 2 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Start the engine.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

(f) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

(g) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below while performing the Active Test.

OK -- REPLACE NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Remove the No. 2 integration relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

(b) Disconnect the D130 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)
