DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends a signal to the ECM depending on the cruise control main switch condition. The battery supplies positive (+) battery voltage to the cruise control main switch. Terminal 60 (CCS) of the ECM receives the voltage which varies according to the switch condition.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition column.

NG -- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

(a) Inspect the cruise control main switch Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE

(a) Remove the cruise control switch wire.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D103 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the A72 ECM connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE ECM Removal (from 07/2011)
