Removal (from 07/2011)





SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback Front Passenger Side): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with a new one.
NOTICE:
Always use E10 "TORX" socket wrench when removing the front seat.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK OUTER COVER

(a) Move the seat to the foremost position.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the seat track outer cover.





4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the buckle switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the front seat side airbag connector. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

(1) Push the slider with a finger to disengage the first claw. Without releasing your finger, slide the slider to disengage the second claw and disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.

(c) Disconnect the SRS front seat cushion airbag connector. (w/ SRS Front Seat Cushion Airbag)

(1) Place a finger on the slider, slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the SRS front seat cushion airbag connector.

(d) Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.





(e) Move the seat to the rearmost position.

(f) Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

(g) Remove the front seat assembly.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
