Reassembly (from 07/2011)

SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback Driver Side): REASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

1. INSTALL SEAT TRACK ADJUSTING HANDLE

(a) Engage the 2 hooks to install the seat track adjusting handle.

2. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP

(a) Install the 2 seat adjuster cover caps.

3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the separate type front seatback spring assembly with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR RH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector RH.

(b) Install the screw.

5. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector LH.

(b) Install the screw.

6. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR RH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector RH.

(b) Install the screw.

7. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH (w/o Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector LH.

(b) Install the screw.

8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the clip and install the screw.

(b) Engage the hook to install the front seat cushion lower shield RH as shown in the illustration.

9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the clip and install the screw.

(b) Engage the hook to install the front seat cushion lower shield LH as shown in the illustration.

10. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

(a) Engage the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover RH.

11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

(a) Engage the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the front seat cushion lower shield.

13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

(a) Install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

CAUTION:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(b) Engage the 2 clamps.

14. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

NOTICE:
* For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not be activated normally unless the separate type front seatback cover is securely installed.
* Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
* Install the bracket securely.

(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seat back pad with 6 new hog rings.

NOTICE:
* Be careful not to damage the cover.
* When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

15. INSTALL SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

(a) Temporary install the front seatback cover with pad. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

(b) Install the front seatback cover bracket with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not be activated normally unless the front seatback cover is securely installed.
* Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
* Install the bracket securely.

(c) Fasten the 2 zippers. (for Sport Package)

(d) Align the protruding portion of the front seat headrest support with the installation groove of the front seat adjuster frame.

(e) Engage the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

(f) Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

NOTICE:
Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

(g) Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with 14 new hog rings.

NOTICE:
* Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion pad.
* When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

(b) Using hog ring pliers, install the 2 new hog rings.

* Be careful not to damage the cover.
* When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

17. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

(a) Engage the 5 hooks and temporary install the seat cushion cover with pad.

(b) Engage the 2 hooks.

(d) Engage the 4 hooks to install the seat cushion cover with pad.

(e) Fasten the hook and loop fastener. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

(f) Connect the seatback cover band.

18. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the front seat cushion inner shield.

19. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

(a) Engage the clip and 2 claws to install the front seat cushion shield.

(b) Install the screw.

20. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

(a) Install the vertical adjusting handle with the screw.

21. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

(a) Engage the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle.

22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front seat headrest assembly.
