DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives signals from the back door opener switch assembly. Then, the main body ECU activates the back door lock motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK STATUS)

(a) Unlock all doors.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(f) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Main Body





OK:

The Techstream indicates Permit according to the door lock operation shown in the table.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

Main Body





OK:

The back door lock assembly unlatches when ON is selected.

NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

The Techstream indicates ON or OFF according to the switch operation shown in the table.

NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)

4. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the back door lock assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the T5 back door lock assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Removal (from 07/2011).

(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal (from 07/2011).

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)

7. INSPECT BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the back door opener switch assembly.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the D143 main body ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)
