DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU determines the ignition switch position (OFF, ACC, ON) based on signals from the IG or ACC circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

When the ignition switch is operated, the display changes as shown in the table.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Theft Deterrent System (for Hatchback)

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Disconnect the 3E junction block connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT IGNITION OR START SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the ignition or start switch assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE IGNITION OR START SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION OR START SWITCH ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Reinstall the ignition or start switch assembly.

(b) Disconnect the 3A and 3B junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK Removal (from 07/2011)
