DESCRIPTION

The engine hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) is installed together with the hood lock. This switch turns off when the engine hood is opened and turns on when the engine hood is closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Main Body





OK:

The indicator on the Techstream switches between ON and OFF in accordance with the engine hood courtesy switch status.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A63 engine hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY) - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the D144 main body ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY)

(a) Inspect the engine hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY) Removal (from 07/2011)

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal (from 07/2011)
