Engine Immobiliser System (for Hatchback)





THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (for Hatchback): Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

* When the engine immobiliser system is set, the theft warning indicator light assembly blinks continuously, but does not illuminate if the engine immobiliser system is not set.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* When replacing the transponder key ECU assembly, refer to Registration Engine Immobiliser System (for Hatchback).

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Engine Immobiliser System (for Hatchback)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR)

(a) Check that the theft warning indicator light assembly illuminates when operating it with the Active Test Engine Immobiliser System (for Hatchback).

OK:

Theft warning indicator light assembly can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - THEFT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM STATUS)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

HINT
When using the Techstream with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot: Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

(b) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Engine Immobiliser System (for Hatchback).

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - THEFT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D139 transponder key ECU assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the D141 theft warning indicator light assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT THEFT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Inspect the theft warning indicator light assembly Testing and Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE THEFT WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D139 transponder key ECU assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:
