BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly Installation.

NOTICE:
* Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
* Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
* Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
* Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.
* Never use the steering angle sensor detached from spiral cable.

HINT
The steering angle sensor is a component of the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly. If the steering angle sensor malfunctions, replace the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

2. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Installation

3. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Installation

4. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE Installation

5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

7. INSTALL STEERING PAD Installation

8. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

9. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

10. INSPECT STEERING PAD Installation

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT Installation
