SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR AIRBAG SENSOR: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for Separate Type) Removal

3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD Removal

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal

8. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

for LH Side: Removal

for RH Side: Removal

9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) Removal

10. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) Removal

11. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD (for RH Side) Removal

12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD SPACER (for RH Side) Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY INTAKE DUCT (for RH Side) Removal

14. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Disconnect the connector.





NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(1) Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

(2) Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.

(d) Remove the nut and rear airbag sensor.





NOTICE:
Loosen the nut while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
