How To Proceed With Troubleshooting





PRE-COLLISION: PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

HINT
* Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the pre-collision system.
* The Techstream should be used in steps 2, 3, 4 and 6.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

NG -- CHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

4. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(1) Record the DTCs.

(b) Clear the DTCs.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

(1) Attempt to duplicate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
