System Description

PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: REAR VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM: SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

1. GENERAL

(a) To assist the driver with parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle, this system has a rear television camera assembly mounted on the back door. The system displays the image on the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2.

(b) The rear view monitor system consists of the following components:

(1) Navigation ECU sub-assembly*1

(2) Radio and display receiver assembly*2

(3) Rear television camera assembly

(4) No. 1 integration relay

(5) Power management control ECU

* *1: for Navigation Receiver Type or for Radio and Display Type (w/o Daytime Running Light)

* *2: for Radio and Display Type (w/ Daytime Running Light)

2. FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS

(a) The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 controls the system by using information from the following components:

3. OPERATION EXPLANATION

(a) The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 receives the reverse signal from the No. 1 integration relay when the power switch is on (READY) and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 switches from the navigation system to the rear view monitor system.
