P0560
2ZR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: SFI SYSTEM: P0560: System Voltage
P0560 - System Voltage
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The auxiliary battery supplies electricity to the ECM even when the power switch is off. This power allows the ECM to store data such as DTC history, freeze frame data and fuel trim values. If the auxiliary battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the memory is cleared and the ECM determines that there is a malfunction in the power supply circuit. The next time the engine is started, the ECM illuminates the MIL and stores the DTC.
HINT
If DTC P0560 is stored, the ECM does not store other DTCs or the data stored in the ECM may be partly cleared.
MONITOR STRATEGY
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS
TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS
CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
4. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
6. Wait 5 seconds or more.
7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
8. Read the pending DTCs.
HINT
* If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
* If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
10. Input the DTC: P0560.
11. Check the DTC judgment result.
HINT
* If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
* If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
12. If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE or N/A and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
HINT
* If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
* If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
HINT
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can be helpful in determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, whether the engine was warmed up or not, whether the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, as well as other data recorded at the time of a malfunction.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - EFI MAIN FUSE)
(a) Disconnect the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
(b) Disconnect the positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal.
(c) Remove the EFI MAIN fuse from the engine room relay block.
(d) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY
(a) Check that the auxiliary battery is not depleted.
OK:
Auxiliary battery is not depleted.
NG -- CHARGE OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Check that the auxiliary battery terminals are not loose or corroded.
OK:
Auxiliary battery terminals are not loose or corroded.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(e) Turn the power switch off and turn the Techstream off.
(f) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(g) Wait for 5 seconds.
(h) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
(i) Read the DTCs.
Result:
B -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS Check for Intermittent Problems
A -- REPLACE ECM Removal
