C1541
POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS: POWER STEERING SYSTEM (for Brushless Type Motor): C1541: Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction
C1541 - Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The power steering ECU assembly receives vehicle speed signals from the skid control ECU via CAN communication. The ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the vehicle speed, based on the signals.
If the ECU detects this DTC, it adjusts the amount of power assistance for a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) and continues the system control.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced, perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Power Steering System (For Brushless Type Motor).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check if DTC U0129 is output.
Result:
HINT
DTC U0129 indicates a skid control ECU communication malfunction in the power steering system.
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs of the brake control system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC of speed sensor malfunction is not output.
NOTICE:
If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize rotation angle sensor and calibrate torque sensor zero point Power Steering System (For Brushless Type Motor).
NG -- REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE Electronically Controlled Brake System
OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
