P0560 - System Voltage
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The auxiliary battery supplies electricity to the ECM even when the power switch is off. This power allows the ECM to store data such as DTC history, freeze frame data and fuel trim values. If the auxiliary battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the memory is cleared and the ECM determines that there is a malfunction in the power supply circuit. When the engine is next started, the ECM illuminates the MIL and stores the DTC.
HINT
If DTC P0560 is stored, the ECM does not store other DTCs or the data stored in the ECM is partly cleared.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
4. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
6. Wait 5 seconds or more.
7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
8. Read the pending DTCs.
HINT
* If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
* If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
10. Input the DTC: P0560.
11. Check the DTC judgment result.
HINT
* If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
* If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
12. If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE or N/A and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
HINT
* If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
* If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* After turning power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.
HINT
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY
(a) Inspect that the auxiliary battery is not depleted Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Auxiliary battery is not depleted
NG -- REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Check that the auxiliary battery terminals are not loose or corroded.
OK:
Auxiliary battery terminals are not loose or corroded
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF ECM)
(a) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - ECM)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0560)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(e) Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
(f) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(g) Turn the Techstream on.
(h) Wait 5 seconds or more.
(i) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
(j) Read the DTCs.
