C1541/13 - Vehicle Speed Signal
DESCRIPTION
The power steering ECU assembly receives vehicle speed signals from the brake booster with master cylinder assembly via CAN communication. The ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the vehicle speed based on the signals.
If the ECU detects this DTC, it adjusts the amount of power assistance for a speed of 140 km/h (87 mph) and continues system control.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced, perform assist map writing Programming and Relearning.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check if DTC U0129/42 is output Diagnosis System.
Result:

DTC U0129/42 indicates a brake booster with master cylinder assembly communication malfunction in the power steering system.

2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM)
(a) Check for electronically controlled brake system DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
Electronically controlled brake system DTCs are not output.
NG -- REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE Electronically Controlled Brake System
OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
