B1497/97 - BUS IC Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The air conditioning harness assembly connects the air conditioning amplifier and each servo. The air conditioning amplifier supplies power and sends operation instructions to each servo through the air conditioning harness assembly. Each servo sends the damper position information to the air conditioning amplifier.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn Techstream on.

(c) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

(d) Check the operation by referring to the table below.

Active Test / Air Conditioner:





OK:

Arm of the servo motor selected in the Active Test moves smoothly

(e) According to the test, proceed to the next step.

B -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.

2. SYSTEM CHECK

(a) According to the test, proceed to the next step.

Result:





B -- REPLACE AIR INLET SERVOMOTOR

C -- REPLACE AIR OUTLET SERVOMOTOR

D -- REPLACE AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR (PASSENGER SIDE)
A -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR (DRIVER SIDE)

(a) Replace the air mix servomotor (driver side).

HINT
Since the servomotor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servomotor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

(b) Check for the DTC.

4. REPLACE AIR INLET SERVOMOTOR

(a) Replace the air inlet servomotor.

HINT
Since the servomotor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

(b) Check for the DTC.

5. REPLACE AIR OUTLET SERVOMOTOR

(a) Replace the air outlet servomotor.

HINT
Since the servomotor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

(b) Check for the DTC.

6. REPLACE AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR (PASSENGER SIDE)

(a) Replace the air mix servomotor (passenger side).

HINT
Since the servomotor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

(b) Check for the DTC.

7. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the air conditioning harness assembly.

HINT
Since the air conditioning harness assembly cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the air conditioning harness assembly with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

(b) Check for the DTC.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

A -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
