Installation





2GR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

(a) Install the heated oxygen sensor Installation.

2. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

(b) Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.





Torque : 55 Nm (561 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector (for Bank 2 Sensor 2).





(d) Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket with the 2 nuts.





Torque : 33 Nm (336 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install 2 new gaskets to the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

(b) Install the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.





Bolt - Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 55 Nm (561 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression springs.





Minimum length:

41.5 mm (1.64 in.)

If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

(b) Fully insert a new gasket to the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

(c) Using a plastic hammer and wooden block, tap in the new gasket until its surface is flush with the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
* Be sure to install the gasket in the correct direction.
* Do not reuse the gasket.
* Do not damage the gasket.
* Do not push in the gasket by using the exhaust pipe when connecting it.

(d) Connect the center exhaust pipe assembly to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

(e) Install the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.





Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

(f) Install the grommet to the vehicle.





(g) Connect the 2 clamps and heated oxygen sensor connector (for Bank 1 Sensor 2).





5. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER

(a) Install the exhaust pipe damper with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

6. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression springs.





Minimum length:

38.5 mm (1.52 in.)

If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

(b) Fully insert a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

(c) Using a plastic hammer and wooden block, tap in the new gasket until its surface is flush with the center exhaust pipe assembly.

NOTICE:
* Be sure to install the gasket in the correct direction.

(d) Connect the tail exhaust pipe assembly to the 4 exhaust pipe supports.

(e) Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.





Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)

7. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the concave on each baffle with each protruding part of the tail exhaust pipe assembly as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a plastic hammer, uniformly tap the 2 tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies onto the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

8. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

10. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation

11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation

12. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
