Installation





2AZ-FXE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: KNOCK SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR

(a) Install the knock sensor with the nut.





Torque : 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Make sure that the knock sensor is in the correct position.

(b) Connect the knock sensor connector.

2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Install a new gasket into the intake manifold.





(b) Install the intake manifold with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.





Torque : 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

(c) Fit the union to check valve hose into the vacuum hose clamp.

(d) Install the wire harness clamp.

(e) Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

(f) Connect the union to check valve hose to the brake booster.

3. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH INJECTOR Installation

5. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY Installation

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY Installation

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Installation

10. ADD COOLANT (for Engine) Testing and Inspection

11. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) Testing and Inspection

12. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Testing and Inspection

13. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

14. INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the cowl top panel outer sub-assembly with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.





Bolt - Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

Nut - Torque : 85 Nm (867 kgf-cm, 63 ft-lbf)

15. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

16. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK Installation

17. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Installation

19. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Installation

20. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

21. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation

22. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization procedure Repair Instruction - Initialization.

NOTICE:
Some vehicle systems require initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
