WINDSHIELD / WINDOWGLASS: GLASS HATCH OPENER SYSTEM:
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. REMOVE GLASS HATCH OPENER SYSTEM (Switch operation)
(a) With the ignition switch ON, check that the glass hatch and opens when the glass hatch opener switch is pushed held down.
(b) Check that the glass hatch opens when the glass hatch opener switch on the transmitter has been pushed for approximately 1 second or more.
2. REMOVE GLASS HATCH OPENER SYSTEM (Key cylinder operation)
HINT: The back door lock/unlock function and glass hatch opener system are linked together in the back door key cylinder. The back door can be locked or unlocked, and also the glass hatch can be opened using the key cylinder.
(a) Check that the back door locks when the key is turned clockwise by approximately 45° and the back door unlocks when turned counterclockwise by approximately 45°, as shown in the illustration.
(b) Check that the glass hatch opens when the key is turned clockwise by approximately 70°, as shown in the illustration.
HINT: The glass hatch opener can operate even while the back door is open.
