ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: REAR DOOR:
COMPONENTS
DISASSEMBLY
HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (Removal).
1. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)
(a) Insert a clip remover between the plate and trim (Procedure "A").
(b) Maintain the position in "A" and turn the handle as shown in the illustration to remove the handle.
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR PULL HANDLE
(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the door pull handle.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 clips and then pull the trim board upward to remove it.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)
(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the regulator switch connector.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the switch.
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage claw A.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Move the inside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration. This will release the claw and allow removal of the inside handle.
(c) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and bracket.
(b) Remove the service hole cover.
NOTE: Remove the remaining tape on the door side.
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH ()
8. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the speaker connector.
(b) Using a drill of less than dia4 mm (0.16 in.), drill out the 3 rivet heads and remove the speaker.
NOTICE:
- Be sure to gently place the drill perpendicular to the rivet to prevent the rivet hole and the drill itself from being damaged.
- Be careful as the cut rivet will be hot.
(c) Even if the flange is taken off, continue drilling and push out the remaining fragments using the drill.
(d) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the drilled rivet and dust from the inside of the door.
9. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH
(a) Remove the rear door glass run.
10. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the bolt and 3 screws.
(b) Rotate the division bar and division bar seal by 90° and pull them upward as shown in the illustration.
(c) Remove the division bar from the division bar seal.
11. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
HINT: Insert a cushion inside the door panel to prevent the glass from being scratched.
(a) Open the door glass.
(b) Tilt the door glass and disconnect the roller of the regulator from the channel to remove the door glass.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the glass.
HINT: Pull the glass upward to remove it.
12. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Power Window)
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and rear door window regulator.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.
HINT: Remove the window regulator through the service hole.
13. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Power Window)
(a) Disconnect the window regulator connector.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and window regulator.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.
HINT: Remove the window regulator through the service hole.
14. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Power Window)
(a) Using a "TORX" driver (T25), remove the 3 screws and motor.
15. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Door Lock)
(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 bolts and the door lock.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the screws as the door lock may fall and become damaged.
HINT: Remove the door lock through the service hole.
16. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Door Lock)
(a) Disconnect the power door lock connector.
(b) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws and the door lock.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the screws as the door lock may fall and become damaged.
HINT: Remove the door lock through the service hole.
17. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw.
(b) Remove the cover.
18. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
NOTE: If the release plate is not pulled and held when removing the handle, the release plate will interfere with the handle and become damaged.
19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the frame.
(b) Using pliers, disengage the clips and remove the handle frame as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Remove the handle frame through the service hole.
NOTE: Be sure to remove the outside handle frame together with the clips, because the clips will be damaged if the clips remain attached to the door panel.
20. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
(a) Remove the door panel side bolt and disconnect the check.
(b) Using a clip remover, remove the weatherstrip.
HINT: If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.
