WINDSHIELD / WINDOWGLASS: WINDSHIELD GLASS: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH (Removal)

2. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH (Removal)

3. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL (Removal)

4. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (Removal)

5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (Removal)

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
8. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (Removal)

9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
10. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (Removal)

11. REMOVE RH VISOR ASSEMBLY (Removal)

12. REMOVE LH VISOR ASSEMBLY
13. REMOVE MAP LAMP ASSEMBLY (Removal)

14. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)

15. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER (Removal)

16. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (Removal)

17. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CENTER RH
18. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CENTER LH
19. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE





(a) Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

NOTE: Do not damage the vehicle body with the knife.

(b) Remove the remaining moulding.

HINT: Make a partial cut in the moulding.

20. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS

HINT: Depending on a vehicle type, either a 1-piece type or a 2-piece type of stopper is installed.





(a) From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass.

HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to keep the surface from being scratched.





(b) Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.

NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and interior/exterior ornaments.

(c) Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.
(d) Using a suction cup, remove the glass.

NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible when removing the glass.

21. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS





(a) Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass.
(b) Clean the outer edge of the glass with white gasoline.

NOTE: Do not touch the glass after cleaning it.
