REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

HINT: (Service Precautions)

2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
4. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (Removal)

6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (Removal)

7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (Removal)

8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)

9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

HINT: (Removal)

10. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)

11. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the cable end from the lever pin of the floor shift assembly.

(b) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the parking lock cable from the floor shift assembly.

HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

(e) Using a screwdriver, remove the cable from the upper bracket.

- Before disconnecting the cable, keep in mind each of the physical relationship between the connector and wire harness or other cables.
- Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
