AIR CONDITIONING: HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY: INSPECTION

INSPECTION

1. COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Inspect blower switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
(b) Inspect illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the illuminations light up.
If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.





(c) Inspect A/C switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
(d) Inspect indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 while the A/C switch is pressed, then check that the indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
(e) Inspect R/F switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
(f) Inspect indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 8 while the R/F switch is pressed, then check that the indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
(g) Inspect illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 10 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the illuminations light up.
If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.
(h) Inspect defroster mode detection switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
