REMOVAL
1. BOLTS, SCREWS AND NUTS TABLE
HINT: Indicate the bolts, screws and nuts, which are necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel, in the illustration and the text with alphabets.
a. Remove of bolts, screws and nuts table.
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. INSPECT CENTER FRONT WHEEL
4. REMOVE STEERING PAD
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
7. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 3 claws.
b. Disconnect connector, then remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
10. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)
11. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Turn the shift lever sub-assembly counter clockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
12. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY
a. Power point socket models only:Disengage the 5 claws and remove the switch base.
b. Remove the control knob.
c. Remove the screw
d. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 7 claws, then pull out the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
e. Disconnect the connectors.
13. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY
14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Open the instrument panel box.
b. Pull the instrument panel box upward to remove it.
15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
a. M/T Transaxle:
Remove the 3 screws
b. A/T Transaxle:
Remove the 5 screws
c. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws, then remove the lower center instrument panel finish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
16. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
17. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
a. Disengage the 9 claws, then remove the front door scuff plate LH.
19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
a. Remove the cowl side trim clip.
b. Disengage the 2 claws, then remove the cowl side trim board LH.
21. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
22. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Open the glove compartment door.
b. Remove the screw
23. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Deform the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the stoppers.
b. Pull the glove compartment door assembly upward to remove it.
24. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR
25. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, then remove the meter hood sub-assembly.
26. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the screw
b. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.
c. Disconnect connector, then remove the combination meter assembly, as shown in the illustration.
27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 2 claws.
b. Pull out the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
28. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
a. Disengage the 3 clips and 2 claws, then remove the front pillar garnish LH.
29. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
30. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 screws
b. Disengage the 3 clips and 9 claws.
c. Pull the upper instrument panel sub-assembly rearward to remove it.
d. Disconnect the connectors.
31. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and DLC3 connector.
b. Using a clip-remover, remove the 4 clips.
c. Remove the 7 bolts or
d. Disengage the wire harness 4 clamps.
e. Remove the instrument panel sub-assembly lower.
32. REMOVE CENTER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws.
b. Pull out the center No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel.
33. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
35. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
3. INSTALL CENTER NO.1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
4. INSTALL CENTER NO.2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Install the center No.2 instrument cluster finish panel with the 2 claws.
5. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
b. Install the wire harness 4 clamps.
c. Install the 7 bolts or
d. Install the 4 clips.
e. Connect the hood lock control cable and DLC3 connector.
6. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Install the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
c. Install the 3 clips and 9 claws.
d. Install the 3 screws
7. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
8. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
a. Install the front pillar garnish LH with the 3 clips and 2 claws.
9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
b. Install the 4 clips and 2 claws.
10. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the combination meter assembly, then connect the connector as shown in the illustration.
b. Install the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.
c. Install the screw
11. INSTALL METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the meter hood sub-assembly with the 5 claws and 3 clips.
12. CONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR
13. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the glove compartment door assembly.
b. Deform the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to install the stoppers.
14. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly with the screw
b. Close the glove compartment door.
15. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
a. Install the cowl side trim board RH with the 2 claws.
b. Install the cowl side trim clip.
16. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
17. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
a. Install the front door scuff plate RH with the claws.
18. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
19. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
20. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
21. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
a. Install lower center instrument panel finish panel with the claws.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. A/T Transaxle:
Install the 5 screws
c. M/T Transaxle:
Install the 3 screws
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
a. Install the instrument panel box.
b. Close the instrument panel box.
23. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY
24. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Install the CTR instrument cluster finish panel assembly with the 2 clips and 7 claws.
c. Install the screw
d. Install the control knob.
e. Power point socket models only:
Install the switch base with the 5 claws.
25. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
a. Install the shift lever knob sub-assembly and turn the shift lever sub-assembly clockwise.
26. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)
27. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly, and connect connector.
b. Install the 4 clips and 3 claws.
28. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
29. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
30. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
31. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)
32. INSPECT STEERING PAD
33. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
34. INSTALL STEERING PAD
35. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
36. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
