Shifter M/T: Service and Repair

FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

COMPONENTS:

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR





5. SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT CABLE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHIFT
(a) Remove the clip and separate the end of the shift cable from the shift lever assembly.





(b) Using a screwdriver, release the cable outer spring.
(c) Turn the lock, and separate the shift cable from the shift lever retainer.





6. SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT CABLE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT
(a) Remove the clip and separate the end of the select cable from the shift lever assembly.





(b) Using a screwdriver, release the cable outer spring.
(c) Turn the lock, and separate the select cable from the shift lever retainer.





7. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever assembly.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)





2. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT CABLE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT
(a) Connect the select cable to the retainer of shift lever assembly turn the lock.

NOTICE: The projecting part of the cable outer should face upward when the shift cable is installed.

(b) Install the cable outer spring to the lock.

NOTICE: Make sure that after installation the cable outer spring is moved to the place shown in the illustration.





(c) Connect the end of the select cable and install the clip to the shift lever assembly.





3. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT CABLE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHIFT
(a) Connect the shift to the retainer of shift lever assembly, turn the lock.

NOTICE: The projecting part of the cable outer should face upward when the shift cable is installed.

(b) Install the cable outer spring to the lock.

NOTICE: Make sure that after installation the cable outer spring is moved to the place shown in the illustration.





(c) Connect the end of the shift cable and install the clip to the shift lever assembly.
4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY REAR
5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
7. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
