Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
7. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK
9. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSY
10. REMOVE COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU




a. Remove the 3 nuts.




b. Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

1. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 connectors.

NOTE: After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

2. Remove the hybrid vehicle control ECU.




c. Remove the 3 screws and ECU cover.




d. Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU




a. Install the 2 ECM brackets with the 4 screws.

Torque: 3.0 N.m (31 kgf.cm, 27 in.lbf)




b. Install the ECU cover with the 3 screws.

Torque: 3.0 N.m (31 kgf.cm, 27 in.lbf)

c. Connect the 2 connectors.

NOTE: When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not become stuck between the connectors and other parts.




1. Connect the 2 connectors and lower the 2 levers.

NOTE: Make sure that the 2 levers are securely lowered.




d. Install the hybrid vehicle control ECU with the 3 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

2. INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSY
4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK
5. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
7. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
8. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
9. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

a. Perform initialization procedure.

HINT: Some vehicle systems require initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
