FRONT BRAKE

REMOVAL

NOTICE: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface of the vehicle, wash or remove it completely.





3. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the union bolt and gasket from the disc brake cylinder assembly, then disconnect the front brake flexible hose.





(b) Hold the front disc brake cylinder slide pin and remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder assembly.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the disc brake cylinder assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 34 Nm (350 kgf-cm, 25 ft. lbs.)





(b) Connect the front flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.

NOTICE: Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder.

Torque: 29 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)

2. ADD BRAKE FLUID TO RESERVOIR
3. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL
4. BLEED FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM
5. CANCEL BRAKE CONTROL DISABLE
6. CLEAR DTC FOR BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM
7. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE ZERO DOWN
8. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
