Applicability
Introduction
Some customers of 2007 - 2008 model year North American Production Camry and Camry HV vehicles may complain of a creaking noise from the front passenger side of the vehicle. This condition may occur when the body flexes while driving on rough roads over speed bumps under harsh turns or heavy braking conditions. Use the following repair procedure to address this concern.

R & R Front Apron to locate side member if weld is missing please sublet to body shop.
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Required Tools & Equipment
Repair Procedure
1. Remove cool air intake duct seal (for 2GR-FE).
A. Remove the 7 clips and cool air intake duct seal.
2. Remove the front bumper assembly.
A. Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.
NOTE
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
B. Using a screwdriver turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
C. Remove the 8 screws 2 clips 2 radiator grille protectors and bolt.
D. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
E. Without fog lights:
Remove the front bumper assembly.
For vehicles with fog lights:
Disconnect each connector, and then remove the front bumper assembly.
3. Remove RH headlight assembly.
A. Remove the bolt and 2 screws.
B. Disconnect the connectors and remove the headlight assembly.
4. Remove RH rocker panel molding.
A. Remove the 2 screws and rocker panel molding protector.
B. Put protective tape around the rocker panel molding.
C. Remove the 2 screws and grommet.
D. Remove the screw.
E. Remove the 7 clips.
F. Remove the 2 screws.
G. Disengage the 8 clips and remove the rocker panel molding.
5. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
A. Remove the nut front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.
B. Remove the nut front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.
C. Disengage the claw and remove the front fender to cowl side seal LH.
D. Disengage the claw and remove the front fender to cowl side seal RH.
E. Remove the 2 clips 4 claws and remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
6. Remove RH front fender upper protector.
A. Disengage the 2 hooks and 3 clips and remove the RH hood to fender seal.
B. Remove the 2 clips and disengage the 2 hooks and remove the RH front fender upper protector.
7. Remove RH front fender liner.
A. Remove the RH front wheel.
B. Remove the 3 screws and the front wheel opening extension pad.
C. Remove the 5 clips bolt 4 screws grommet and the front fender liner.
D. Remove the front fender RH seal.
8. Remove the RH front fender by removing the 7 bolts.
9. Inspect and repair inner fender to cowl welds.
A. Remove sealant from welds in the locations indicated in Figure 25.
B. Inspect for incomplete or separated welds.
C. If welds are found to be incomplete or separated repair by MIG welding.
D. Apply rust prevention material such as TPX Spot Prime (or equivalent) to any repaired surfaces.
E. Apply sound dampening material such as Damp Coat AD41 0 (or equivalent) over unsealed welds.
F. Repaint area to match vehicle exterior color.
10. Inspect and adjust inner fender to cowl gap.
A. Using a feeler gauge verify gap is greater than 2 mm (0.08 in.) between inner fender structure and cowl.
B. If the gap is found to be less than 2mm (0.08 in.) use a pry tool to increase the gap to 2mm (0.08 in.).
11. For assembly reverse steps 1 - 8.
12. Test drive vehicle to verify repair.
