Introduction
Some 2007 model year Camry customers may complain of a squeak noise from the driver's seat when weight is shifted fore-aft in the seat (such as when accelerating or braking).
The source of the noise may be due to contact between the end of the rear lifter bar and the seat side frame located at the bottom rear of the seat. Use the repair procedure in this TSB to improve this condition.

Repair Procedure
IMPORTANT:
Before removing the seat from the vehicle:
^ Move the seat forward to its farthest forward position (this will allow access to the plastic trim screws later).
^ Lower the seat to its lowest position (this will allow the rear lifter bar to be moved up easily at a later step).
1. Remove the driver's seat assembly.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2007 model year Camry Repair Manual, Vehicle Interior - Seat - "Seat: Front Seat Assembly (for Power Seat): Removal".
2. Write down the radio preset stations.
3. Using a plastic trim tool (or a taped screwdriver), remove the power reclining and slide switches.
4. Flip the seat upside down and place on a clean surface.
NOTE:
Place a clean blanket under the seat to protect the seat from becoming soiled or damaged.
5. Remove the two screws at the front of the seat, holding the plastic trim in place.
6. Remove the two screws that are behind the seat switches.
7. Unhook the lower seat trim clips and fold the trim back.
8. Remove the two screws at the back of the seat plastic trims.
9. Disconnect the connector for the lumbar switch and remove the plastic trim panel around the seat cushion.
10. Remove the small plastic trim near the buckle on the right side of the seat.
11. Release the clip in front of the buckle by sliding downward.
12. Detach the rear claw using a trim removal tool.
13. Release the 10 clips as shown in the illustration.
The wiring harnesses and the lower trim need to be moved out of the way to access the rear lifter bar.
14. Fold the lower trim back to expose the rear lifter bar. Unclip the plastic track covers from the lifter bar as shown in the illustration.
15. Remove the small black clip and fold back the trim material to expose the rear lifter bar bolt on the outside of the seat side frame.
NOTE:
Perform procedure on both sides of the seat.
16. Remove the lifter bar bolt (T40 Torx bolt) from the right side (buckle side) of the seat frame.
NOTE:
The bolt color is silver.
17. Pull the lifter bar up to expose the end of the lifter bar.
18. Apply the grease from the "Base Sub-assembly, Roof Window Balancer" kit (PN 63207-35040) on the end of the lifter bar.
NOTE:
^ Apply the grease ONLY to the "horseshoe" shaped portion of the lifter bar end.
^ Do NOT apply grease to the bolt hole in the center of the bar.
19. Apply grease to the seat side frame in the area that the lifter bar end contacts.
20. Reinstall the Torx bolt.
Torque: 20 - 30 N.m (20 - 31 kgf.m, 15 - 22 ft.lbf)
21. Repeat steps 15 - 20 on the left side of the frame.
22. Reassemble the seat in the reverse order of disassembly.
23. Reinstall the driver's seat assembly in the vehicle.
Refer to TIS, 2007 model year Camry Repair Manual, Vehicle Interior - Seat - "Seat: Front Seat Assembly (for Power Seat): Installation".
