Introduction
Some 2007 model year Camry vehicle customers may experience a rattle condition from the moon roof, only when the moon roof glass is in the open position. Perform the following procedure to correct this condition.
Applicable Vehicles:
^ 2007 model year Camry vehicles (NAP-built) produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
Perform the following procedure. For more information, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), 2007 model year Camry Repair Manual: Sliding Roof: Sliding Roof Housing.
1. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the sliding roof side garnish LH.
2. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the sliding roof side garnish RH.
3. Using a T25 Torx driver, remove the 4 screws and sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
4. Adjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
Bend the sliding roof glass sub-assembly mounting tabs inward 2 mm (0.08 in.).
5. Install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
A. Using the T25 Torx driver, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.
B. Perform a level check. Check the difference in level for dimension "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weatherstrip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.
HINT:
^ "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level.
^ "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.
C. Perform a gap check. Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.
NOTE:
The gap must be even all around.
D. After adjusting the sliding roof glass, using a T25 Torx driver, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
Torque: 4 N.m
(41 kgf.cm, 35 in..lbf)
6. Check for water leaks.
A. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leaks.
B. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
7. Engage the 6 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish LH.
8. Engage the 6 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish RH.
Re-initialization Procedure
Initialize the moon roof to reset the moon roof's position in the ECU memory - Failure to perform this step after refitting the glass may result in glass reversal/kickback during operation.
1. Push and hold the "TILT UP" switch until glass reaches the fully tilt-up position.
2. Release the "TILT UP" switch.
3. Push and hold the "TILT UP" switch until the glass reaches the fully tilt-up position. Continue to hold for approximately 11 seconds.
The glass will begin to move. Keep holding the "TILT UP" switch while the glass cycles through the entire range of positions, returns to the closed position, and stops. The moon roof is now re-initialized.
